How do I transfer tickets?
When you transfer tickets to another fan and they accept them, the recipient is issued a new barcode that only they can use. The tickets in the sender’s account will no longer be valid for entry.
To transfer your tickets, follow these steps:
- Sign into your Ticketmaster Account and find your order in My Tickets.
- Select Transfer to see if your order is eligible for transfer. If the Transfer button isn't displayed, your tickets are not eligible for transfer.
- Select the tickets you’d like to transfer. Enter the email address associated with the recipient's Ticketmaster Account in the email field. Then click Submit.
- Once the transfer is ready, a unique transfer code will be generated.
-
Copy the transfer code by clicking on the Copy symbol. Send the
transfer
code to your recipient so that they can accept the ticket.
- The recipient must use the same Ticketmaster Account you've entered previously in order to accept the transferred tickets in their account.
Ticket Transfer is only available for Mobile Tickets and must be completed by 11:59 pm the day before the event. This function will not be available on the event day.
Your transferred tickets will show in your account as Transfer Pending. Once the recipient has accepted them, you’ll see Transferred. After a successful Ticket Transfer, the ticket in your account is no longer valid for event entry.
You can check the status of your transfers, including the transfer recipients by clicking on View My Transfer History or by going to Transfer History within your Ticketmaster Account.
How do I know if the tickets have been accepted?
Once you send a ticket, you’ll see either:
- Transfer Pending: your friends haven’t accepted the transferred tickets yet. Remind them to check for the transfer invite.
- Transferred: the transfer has been successful.
How do I accept transferred tickets?
To accept a transferred ticket you’ll need to have a Ticketmaster Account. If you don’t have one you can create one. Make sure you use the same email address the sender used when they transferred tickets to you.
- Sign into your Ticketmaster Account.
- Click My Account, then Receive Transfer.
- Enter the unique transfer code received from your friend and click Submit.
- Tickets waiting to be transferred will be listed. Please confirm that the tickets are correct before accepting them.
-
Click on Accept Ticket Transfer to accept the
tickets.
- If the email associated with your Ticketmaster Account doesn’t match the one entered by the sender, a pop-up notice will appear notifying you. If this occurs, contact the sender and ask them to cancel and redo the process by entering the correct Ticketmaster Account.
- View your tickets by clicking Received in My Tickets.
For your own security, it’s a good idea to know and trust the person transferring tickets to you.
Will the person transferring the tickets know I’ve accepted them?
Once you accept the ticket, the sender will see the tickets have been Transferred in their account, letting them know the Ticket Transfer has been successful.
How do I accept my tickets if I lost the transfer invite?
Ask the sender to cancel the original transfer and start a new Ticket Transfer. Once they’ve started a new one, ask them to send you the new code.
How do I cancel a Ticket Transfer?
Only the sender can cancel a Ticket Transfer. You won’t be able to cancel a transfer after the tickets have been accepted.
If your Ticket Transfer hasn’t been accepted by your recipient yet, you can cancel the transfer by following these steps:
- Sign into your Ticketmaster Account.
- Navigate to My Account and click Transfer History to view your transfers.
-
Search for the transfer that you would like to cancel. Click
View Details to confirm these are the correct tickets.
- If the transfer hasn’t been accepted by the recipient, the displayed status will show as Transfer Pending.
- Click Cancel Transfer. Confirm that you wish to cancel the transfer by selecting OK.
- Your ticket will be returned to your account.
Once you’ve canceled a transfer, you can re-transfer the ticket to someone else or keep it for yourself.
Ticket Transfer Requirements
Is it free to transfer tickets?
Ticketmaster will never charge a fee for a name change or to transfer event tickets.
Can I transfer tickets for any event?
You can use Ticket Transfer for select events, some have rules and restrictions. You can find your event's available options listed in your confirmation email or on the Ticketmaster Website. If Ticket Transfer isn’t eligible, you'll receive a message that the Event Organizer hasn’t activated the feature when you select the Transfer button.
Some of the reasons why Ticket Transfer may not be available are:
- The venue doesn't offer Ticket Transfer yet.
- The Artist or venue turned Ticket Transfer off for that event or section.
- The event was canceled. In such cases, refunds will go to the original purchaser of the tickets.
- The event already took place.
Ticket Transfer is only available for Mobile Tickets and must be completed by 11:59 pm the day before the event. This function will not be available on the event day.
Do I have to transfer all of my tickets?
No, you can transfer some or all of your tickets.
Will the person I transfer tickets to need a Ticketmaster Account?
Yes, but if they don’t have one, it only takes seconds to create a Ticketmaster Account.
If they have an account already, use the email address associated with their Ticketmaster Account for the Ticket Transfer — it’s easier for them to accept tickets that way. Visit our help page, Creating a Ticketmaster Account for more information.
Can I transfer tickets that were transferred to me?
Yes, if your event is eligible for Ticket Transfer, you’re good to go — even if your tickets haven’t been delivered to you yet.
